Stobo Castle
This luxury castle hotel nestles among the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside, day visitors and residents alike enjoying the very best of spa technology. Many go there for relaxation and pampering; others for rest among tranquil surroundings, or exercise and toning. A massive investment programme using Cosmo products, which resulted in the new pool area, juice bar and spa shop, was completed in 2003, successfully fusing 19th century architecture with every 21st century comfort. | Cosmo first supplied tiles to this multi-phase project in the early 1990s. Caesar anti-slip tiles were supplied for the pool surrounds, complying with Health and Safety regulations. In the conservatory Tagina floor tiles were used - this specialised product range comprises a variety of floor borders and corner pieces. Further specialised products supplied included mirror surrounds. Mosaics (from Bisazza) were extensively used throughout, with bespoke mosaic mixes supplied. The mosaics were mesh mounted, ideally flexible for this space's complex design incorporating columns and arches - Iris Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti's Rosa Portogallo Anticato was used in the Hydrospa and nail bar, providing the desired aesthetic qualities with the necessary anti-slip performance.
